Report: Fast-casual players keep burger prices low

Growing competition from fast-casual chains including Smashburger kept price increases at casual chains including Chili's and Applebee's from rising significantly last year, despite higher beef prices, according to data from Intellaprice. On the lower end, quickservice chains are adding more premium burgers after seeing that consumers are willing to pay more for better burgers.
