Firms are addressing concrete delays in reactor projects, execs say

Westinghouse Electric and South Carolina Electric & Gas are addressing delays in pouring the concrete for the foundation of reactors that are being constructed in South Carolina and Georgia, company executives said. The pouring has been postponed for months. "We have a high degree of confidence that when we get by some of these technical issues up front, the project teams will be able to execute and they'll get the construction done," said Stephen Byrne, SCE&G's chief operating officer.
