HIMSS asks feds to stay the course on ICD-10 implementation

HIMSS has called on the federal government to keep the Oct. 1, 2014, deadline for ICD-10 implementation. The transition to ICD-10 has been carefully examined, and the industry should forge ahead "to realize the significant advantages of health care transformation," the group wrote in a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and CMS Acting Administrator Marilyn Tavenner.
