Google misses out on C block, but may still be a winner

With its $4.7 billion bid in the FCC's wireless auction, Google may have failed to win the highly prized C block of spectrum, but it may have succeeded in its strategic objectives, according to this analysis. The search engine giant was able to drive up competition in the wireless field without actually spending any money.
