Corn ethanol plants to open in Pennsylvania, North Carolina

Bionol Clearfield, Pennsylvania's first corn ethanol-production plant, is running performance tests at full capacity, said Roger Schmidt, general manager. North Carolina's first ethanol facility, Clean Burn Fuels, is reportedly no more than eight weeks away from grinding its first batch of corn. The plant will produce 60 million gallons of corn ethanol and 175,000 tons of dried distillers grains annually.
