Tracking the movement of "virtual water"

Researchers are tracking global use of "virtual water" -- the water that goes into producing goods that are later exported to other countries. Island and desert countries such as Malta and Israel tend to depend the most on virtual water, and the U.S. and China export the largest volume of it.
