Part-time work may not lead to full-time jobs anymore

Companies usually hire part-time workers after a recession as a step toward hiring full-timers, but economists say the employment picture has changed. "Companies aren't testing the waters by turning to temporary firms. They just want part-time workers," says Wells Fargo chief economist John Silvia.
