AHIMA reiterates stance against delaying ICD-10 work

The CMS has vowed to review the compliance deadline for ICD-10, but that's no excuse to delay preparations for the new code sets, the American Health Information Management Association reminds industry stakeholders. Delays in ICD-10 work will drive up actual expenses and may lessen the value of EHR meaningful use and similar efforts, AHIMA official Dan Rode said.
