Institutions still investing with hedge funds

Despite the publicity surrounding the Bernard Madoff scandal, a survey of 50 institutional investors worldwide by researcher Preqin found that 77% are still comfortable with alternative strategies, including hedge funds. Preqin spokeswoman Amy Bensted said investors have not changed what they seek in a manager, "although investors will be carrying out more stringent due diligence checks on potential funds."
