Photography, cooking are used to teach math concepts

Students at a Silver Spring, Md., middle school are learning math concepts through photography, cooking and sports as part of an after-school program launched by a photographer. During the six-week PhotoMath course, students take photos of geometric shapes at school and use math to follow and alter recipes. The photographer says the program shows students how math is relevant in their lives.
