AICPA addresses problems with delayed, compressed tax season in letter to IRS

On Friday, the AICPA raised concerns with the Internal Revenue Service about the ongoing delay in the agency's ability to accept many tax forms and the problems that the compressed tax season is causing taxpayers and practitioners. The letter asked the IRS to clarify when it will be able to accept those delayed forms and requested that the IRS consider granting penalty relief for taxpayers affected by this tax season's delays.
