Colo. considers expanding role of community colleges

Colorado legislators are considering a bill that would allow the state's community colleges to offer some four-year degrees, mostly in technical subjects. The push for expansion is largely based on geographic reasons, as community colleges can serve regions in the state that aren't conveniently served by four-year universities.
