Engineering students need to gather experience in unit testing and test-driven development to boost their chances of landing jobs with startups, technology professional Peter Bell says. "Unfortunately most colleges don't provide all of the skills required for a graduate to become a successful software engineer," he said, noting that recommendations from senior-level professionals, evidence of training and credentials and internships are some ways graduates can improve their chances of landing a job.
