Smartphone medical apps gain acceptance

With more than 1,000 medical applications available on the iPhone, more health care professionals reportedly are beginning to use these devices to better manage and care for their patients. Peter Waegemann, vice president of development for the mHealth Initiative, said the technology is still in its infancy, but he expects more applications and devices to be available soon, which will help improve care and efficiency and lower costs.
