Franchise opportunities begin with research and support

U.S. franchise establishments are projected to increase by 1.4% in 2013, according to a report prepared for the IFA. Franchises offer entrepreneurs numerous business opportunities, with more than 300 areas of business and hundreds of companies within those areas, but franchisees don't have to go it alone. IFA's senior vice president of communications and marketing Alisa Harrison emphasized that preparation is key for those looking to become franchisees. "You just can't do enough research," she said.
