Employers struggle to cope with aging workforce

The median age of workers in the U.S. has steadily increased over the past several decades, creating problems for employers, experts say. Companies that lay off older workers for younger ones with lower salaries risk facing litigation; those that retain older workers could lose young talent and find themselves with a workforce that lacks technological and social media skills.
