Some La. schools are serving up healthier options

Officials in some Louisiana parishes say they have been working to make school meals healthier ahead of federal school-nutrition standards. In Caddo, sweet-potato fries are sometimes being served in place of regular fries, and in Bossier City, more whole grains are being served. "We're still trying to find a whole-grain biscuit," said Belinda McMichael, Bossier City schools child nutrition supervisor. "This is the South. People want their biscuits."
