Facebook likes wind-turbine design contest for students

A middle school teacher in Crook County, Ore., received a $15,000 grant from Facebook to organize a wind-turbine design contest for students, called the KidWind Challenge. The program also received expressions of support from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Portland Public Schools, the Central Oregon High Desert Education Service District. The KidWind Challenge has been limited to state-level competitions for the past seven years, but this year state winners will go head to head for the first-ever nationwide contest in Washington, D.C.
