Franchisors flourish in Nev. market

More than 3,500 people attended the 53rd IFA Annual Convention in Las Vegas this week, including between 200 and 300 exhibitors such as McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, Watermill Express, Flip Flop Shops, LED Source, Papa Murphy's, Honest-1 Auto Care, Milex Car Care, Mr. Transmission and The UPS Store. Opportunities to open multiple locations are expanding in the Las Vegas area, and Fastsigns International CEO Catherine Monson said her company is taking advantage. "We're very excited about the kind of results that we're having," she said. "The real estate situation in Las Vegas is a lot better for us today than it was five years ago, so we're trying to take advantage of that," said Gordon Logan, CEO of Sport Clips, which operates 10 locations in the Las Vegas area.
