A recent attack on the InterContinental Cairo Semiramis in Egypt was "a major blow" to tourism in the country, columnist Roland Wildberg said. He says that preparation is important; security in many new buildings is being integrated with the architecture. "In the Middle East such Physical Security Integrated Management (PSIM) are already standard -- including biometric input controls," writes Wildberg.
