Pratt & Whitney is still working on engines for wide-body aircraft

Engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney says it will continue to develop engines for wide-body jets, despite opting out of competition for the Boeing 777X. "We are heavily investing in technology for the wide-body thrust class and we continue to be very positive on taking a geared turbofan architecture up to 100,000 pounds of thrust," said Bob Saia, a vice president at Pratt & Whitney.
