Europe, U.N. agency move forward with mobile-broadband plans

The EU is looking to increase the speed and availability of mobile broadband under its Radio Spectrum Policy Program, which seeks to free up an additional 1200MHz of spectrum by 2015. In a separate move, the U.N.'s International Telecommunications Union announced that it is initiating a multi-year work program to develop a strategy for delivering low-cost broadband.
