Ind. county officials mull legal scenarios in waste-to-ethanol project

The solid-waste-management district in Lake County, Ind., could avoid some potential lawsuits if it terminates its contract with prospective waste-to-ethanol plant developer Powers Energy of America before April 2, officials said. However, Powers could sue if the district voids the contract on April 2, which is the district's deadline for the company to show proof of funding for the project.
