Implementing ICD-10 could help the industry reap benefits such as enhanced data analytics, better outcomes and improved disease tracking and responses, said Sue Bowman, AHIMA’s coding policy and compliance director. Despite the possible delay announced by HHS last week, Bowman and other industry officials told attendees at the HIMSS12 ICD-10 Symposium to remain vigilant in their ICD-10 planning.
