Stage 2 proposal could be available Wednesday

CMS policy expert Robert Anthony confirmed that federal officials will consider the proposed rule governing stage 2 of the meaningful use program for EHRs on Wednesday, and the rule could be made public then. Speaking at a forum, Anthony and ONC official Steven Posnack talked about what could be included in stage 2. For example, stage 1 "menu" objectives could become core goals, and e-prescribing rates in the emergency department may need to increase to meet stage 2 requirements.
