Freight rail restored in N.Y. after 25-year hiatus

Saratoga & North Creek Railway carried the first freight delivery in about a quarter of a decade from North Creek, N.Y., indicating the return of rail service along the Adirondack route, according to Iowa Pacific Holdings. Barton International was the first shipper of SNC, which connects with Canadian Pacific in Saratoga Springs. "We are very pleased with this first shipment and enthusiastic about future volume opportunities with Iowa Pacific," said Charles Barton, Barton International's chief operating officer.
