MHI seeks to hold SCE accountable for Calif. plant issues

Southern California Edison should be responsible for steam-generator issues at its San Onofre nuclear plant in California, said a senior executive with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which supplied the equipment. "Whether it's a design amendment or not design amendment, it's not us to decide," said Kiyoshi Yamauchi, president of Mitsubishi Nuclear Energy Systems. Yamauchi's remarks came after claims that both MHI and SCE decided against steam-generator upgrades because they didn't want to start a prolonged regulatory review.
