Sony Computer Entertainment held a splashy rollout on Wednesday in New York City for the PlayStation 4, the successor to the PS3, which was introduced in 2006. The PlayStation 4's features include the DualShock 4 touchpad controller, social networking and cloud-based gaming capability. The use of an Advanced Micro Devices microprocessor will make the PS4 more like a gaming PC than a traditional game console, analysts and Sony executives said. The PS4 is expected to go on sale during this year's holiday season, although no official release date was revealed.
