Wyo. companies hopeful of selling wind power to Calif.

Energy companies in Wyoming are hopeful that one day they will be able to export wind-generated power to California, whose 33% renewable-power target by 2020 and 80% greenhouse-gas-reduction goal by 2050 make it a potentially lucrative market. The main hurdles to their plan are California Gov. Jerry Brown, who is reluctant to import power to meet the state's clean-energy goals, and delays in the federal permitting of wind and transmission projects, observers say.
