Missouri, Illinois approve NCLB waiver applications:

Officials in Missouri and Illinois have approved the states' applications for No Child Left Behind waivers. In Missouri, where fewer than 18% of districts met federal benchmarks last year, Commissioner of Education Chris Nicastro described the state's new accountability plan as "ambitious, yet achievable." The eleven states that requested waivers in the first round received them.
