Organization seeks approval for NG9-1-1 pilot program

The Counties of Southern Illinois group has asked the state Commerce Commission to approve its plan for a regional Next Generation 9-1-1 pilot project that was designed by Assure911 to meet NENA-developed standards. Assure 911's Barbara Kemp said it was important to build the system on a platform that adheres to the NENA standards to "save lives and know the investment of treasure, manpower and materials is directionally correct for the long haul."
