Ala. lawmakers may reject the common core

Lawmakers in Alabama are considering legislation that would repeal a decision by the state's board of education to adopt the Common Core State Standards, making it the sixth state nationwide to reject part or all of the standards. Proposed legislation also would restrict the type of information about students and teachers that can be shared with the U.S. Department of Education.
