Industry groups see flaws in FSOC money-fund proposals

The Financial Services Roundtable is among trade groups and firms that have sent more than 100 letters to the Financial Stability Oversight Council pointing out problems with regulations proposed for money market mutual funds. Some called for more analysis. The Roundtable said the rules could reduce demand for commercial paper from money funds, raising borrowing costs for businesses, and it noted operational, accounting and tax issues in the proposed rules.
