More transfer degrees are offered at Calif. community colleges

California community colleges are hoping to offer 1,600 associate degrees by next year that will transfer to four-year colleges in the state. Currently, the state offers about 557 such degrees. "They are making a valiant effort to do as many degrees as they can by the end of the year," noted Barry Russell, vice chancellor for academic affairs for community colleges.
