Why do students in China outperform their peers?

One theory suggests that students in Far East countries, such as China, outperform their peers in other countries because they excel at concentrating and revising. However, Woody Webster from Bright Young Things Tuition, also suggests it's possible that not enough testing has been conducted to properly establish a cause for the achievement gap.
