Market for MEMS devices is projected to pass $6B by 2016, Juniper says

The market for microelectromechanical system devices, found in smartphones and tablet computers, is forecast to surpass $6 billion in annual sales by 2016, according to Juniper Research. In addition to smartphones and tablets, MEMS are now in displays, microphones, pressure sensors and radio-frequency devices, and soon they will be in joysticks, pico projectors, speakers and temperature sensors, the Juniper report states.
