Older Web users are turning to social media, researchers say

Older Internet users are embracing social networks more rapidly than their younger counterparts, according to research. A Nielsen study found that Facebook use was growing most rapidly among people 55 and older, while a separate survey by TGI MobiLens found that over-50s were more likely to use mobile devices to access social networks than were those younger than 30.
