Recession in England leads to increased interest in teaching

England's economic recession has led to an influx of people training to become teachers, with officials reporting about an 11% increase in teacher training applications since last year. The Training and Development Agency for Schools has reported that the number of people interested in teaching science is up 23%, and applications in maths are up 25%.
