Wi-Fi groups ask for help on China's WAPI codes

China's Wired Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure does not work with 802.11 and 802.11b, a tactic designed to strengthen the country's growing wireless gear industry. The Information Technology Industry Council and the Semiconductor Industry Association have banded together with other groups to appeal to the U.S. Trade Representative to put pressure on China's government to open the standard.
