AT&T aims for an expanded global footprint

AT&T plans to extend international licensing of its Digital Life platform in light of demand for the home-monitoring product in Europe. Glenn Lurie, president of AT&T's Emerging Devices unit, says the carrier has received inquiries from more than 30 companies, and new deals are expected as part of an international-business initiative. AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson says "we're at the beginning of a new era" that will be defined by 4G wireless and cloud-computing technologies.
