BNSF, UP may get tax incentives on locomotive fuel in N.M.

BNSF and Union Pacific are expected to receive tax incentives on locomotive fuel in New Mexico with legislation recently passed by the New Mexico House. BNSF would be required to spend a minimum of $50 million on rail infrastructure projects in the state to receive the tax breaks, while UP would qualify after it makes a $100 million investment in a Santa Teresa terminal project.
