Montana airport stops TSA from removing body scanner

When Transportation Security Administration officials came to remove a full-body scanner at Helena Regional Airport in Montana, airport officials were there to stop them. Airport Manager Ron Mercer said he asked the TSA for "reasonable advance notice" for the machine's removal, as well as information on how to deal with longer wait times if the machine was removed. The TSA was removing the scanner to place it in a larger airport, which was losing its Rapiscan scanners because the company did not update its machine software in accordance with a congressional deadline.
