TSA talks scanner changes, PreCheck program

Transportation Security Administration spokesman Nico Melendez told a crowd at Saturday's L.A. Times Travel Show about the new scanners that are less revealing yet still enable security officials to spot weapons and banned materials. He also touched on the TSA Cares program, which is for fliers with medical and age-related sensitivities, and discussed the success of the PreCheck initiative.
