Ky.-based energy exec sees biofuel potential in hemp

Roger Ford, CEO of Kentucky-based Patriot BioEnergy, is supporting legislation that would allow farmers in the state to grow hemp as an energy crop. Hemp seeds yield oil that could be used to make biodiesel and aviation fuel, while other parts of the plant could be used to make cellulosic ethanol, Ford said.
