Saks, Neiman Marcus see luxury's future online

E-commerce will be key to sales growth this year, and further integrating online and in-store shopping is essential to future growth, say luxury department stores Saks and Neiman Marcus, both of which issued quarterly earnings results on Tuesday. "On the Web you have to look at what somebody like Amazon is doing. Not because they’re selling the high-end apparel, but because of the consumer experience [online shoppers are] looking for," said Saks CEO Stephen Sadove.
