Study links avocado intake to lower BMI and waist size

Data on more than 17,500 U.S. adults show that those who reported consuming avocados had lower body weight, waist size and body mass index and were as much as 50% less likely to develop metabolic syndrome than were those who did not eat the fruit. The findings were published in the Nutrition Journal.
