Utah lawmakers leave digital billboard laws up to cities

A Utah Senate committee declined to consider a bill that would have removed cities' power to ban the conversion of traditional billboards to electronic signage. The measure had support from outdoor ad companies that say some cities are requiring them to give up multiple old signs to put up one new digital billboard.
