Panel to report on ethical issues regarding genome sequencing

The U.S. Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues plans to hold public discussions and issue a report this fall regarding the ethics of whole-genome sequencing. The challenge is to encourage research and transform genetic data into usable information while protecting patient privacy, experts say.
