VA suspends contract with ASM Research for EHR system hub

The Department of Veterans Affairs sent a stop-work order to ASM Research, the contractor responsible for a key part of the EHR systems integration of the VA and the Defense Department. ASM, which was not available for comment on the order, won a $102.6 million contract in January to create a central system that can be used by the two agencies to gather products from the private sector. Roger Baker, VA chief information officer and assistant secretary for information and technology, said the agencies will continue with other components of the EHR integration.
