Architect as idea purveyor

A recent conference in New York City tackled the various issues facing the architecture field in the 21st century, including overbuilding, which was a result of unsuitable "flows of capital and the needs of the real economy," said panelist James von Klemperer, Kohn Pedersen Fox design partner. Some suggested that architects become "purveyors of ideas, rather than just designers of buildings."
